J.A Santschi’s sound compositions, spelling, and somatic arts & practices weave gestures toward movements of solidarity, communal memories, and poetics informed by visionary liberation projects & chosen kinships across the QTGNBI* diasporas.

Through their practice of listening, J.A.’s artworks offer resonant and critical spaces informed of reflections & echoes. Their work invites us to envision together the future of “making cultures”, of our “planetary sense of belonging” & to witness the Queerness of relating in our current social hybrid rituals.

The practical part of their research includes storytelling experiments, interactive performances, documenting virtual & digital archives, as well as engaging with group studies about certain philosophical, social & scientific concepts & speculations.

J.A’s work is entangled & mobilized by the knowledge and cultural contributions of artists, activists, thinkers who create; sustainable relationships, resources, time loops, necessary opacities, and changes as they shape their experiences & visions into cultural artefacts.

J.A has been training as a somatic sound artist and facilitator since 2021, working alongside fellow artists, mentors, and practitioners of Black and Indigenous lineages across Europe, Turtle Island, and beyond.
