J.A Santschi’s sound compositions, spelling, and somatic arts weave gestures toward movements of solidarity, memories, and poetics informed by visionary liberation projects & chosen kinships across the QTGNBI* diasporas.

Through their practice of listening, J.A.’s artworks offer resonant and critical spaces of reflections & echoes. Their work invites us to envision together the future of “making cultures”, of our “planetary sense of belonging” & to witness the Queerness of relating in some of our current hybrid social-rituals.

The practical part of their research includes workshops and lectures about their practice of mobilizing and organizing resources and knowledge, creative ways of citation, storytelling experiments, participatory performances, documenting virtual & digital social processes, as well as engaging with group studies about certain philosophical, social & scientific concepts and speculations.

J.A’s works are informed and entangled by the cultural contributions of an expansive legacy of artists, educators, organizers and thinkers; people who maintain Life through sustainable relationships, shared resources, temporalities, socialities & spacialities as they shape their experiences & visions into cultural artefacts.

J.A is a self-taught sound-artist, performer & writer who is ongoingly coached and trained since 2021, by fellow musicians, somatic practitioners, researchers & mentors of Black and Indigenous lineages across europe, Turtle Island, Caribbean Islands, West Africa and beyond.
